More than 280 University of Alabama students are receiving hands-on, innovative and advanced educational experiences with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States through UA's Cooperative Education Program for summer 2019. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

Grove City College student entrepreneurs competed for $24,000 in prize money in the Wolverine Venture Battle, a contest that simulates the real world hunt for the lifeblood of business: funding. The competition is a re-imagination of the original Business Plan Competition.

Cedarville University Student Named to Dean's Honor List

Eight high achieving students were recognized as finalists for the "Mr. and Ms. Frankie" awards on April 30, 2019 by University President Very Rev. Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., Ph.D. at the Annual President's Awards Convocation at Saint Francis University. The "Mr. and Ms. Frankie" awards honor the top senior male and female students at the University each academic year. Finalists exemplify scholarship, leadership, achievement and service to the University, as well as to the Community.

Saint Francis University students have a Heart for Service. Students who have completed over 100 hours of community service during their time at the University are awarded the Center for Service and Learning graduation adornment. Become that Someone.

Nicole Dunlop, a Slippery Rock University sophomore homeland security major from Latrobe, was elected president of the Slippery Rock Student Government Association April 11. Dunlop served as the SGA's vice president of internal affairs for 2018-19 academic year.

For the last 17 years, the Slippery Rock University Jazz Festival has brought some of the world's most acclaimed jazz musicians to campus. This year's event will continue the tradition, said Jason Kush, SRU associate professor of music and festival director.

Cedarville University Student Matthias Campion Serves as President of Nursing Honors Society

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -Slippery Rock University Theatre will bring Charles Dickens' classic holiday story, "A Christmas Carol" to life at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 30-Dec. 1 and Dec. 3-6. A 2 p.m. matinee is slated for Dec. 2. All performances are in the University Union Multipurpose Room. The production, adapted by David Skeele, SRU professor of theatre, will be a 70-minute, no intermission performance.
